DOE Impacted Lamp List With LED Replacements

The Department of Energy approved two rulings which will eliminate many previous exempt Incandescent and Halogen lamps from the market.

Two separate rulings:

  1. Revised definition of General Service Lamps
    • Has an ANSI base
    • Lumen range from 310 – 3300 (previously 310-2600)
    • 12V, 24V, 100-130V, 220-240V, 277V
  2. 45 Lumens Per Watt
    • If a lamp is determined to be a GSL, it must be 45 LPW
    • All CFL and LED lamps are included in GSL but are over 45 LPW

300+ active Satco Incandescent and Halogen lamps will be discontinued, including: Most Halogen PAR and MR16 Reflectors (R20, BR30, and BR40) Shatterproof lamps (exemption is eliminated) 3-way lamps (exemption is eliminated)
